The song is you

I have been gone for a while but I have still been reading. This was a good book, It did take a while to get into. Its not what I usually read either, but it was interesting and it had a good ending. The characters were vivid if not sleazy. The whole book had a tinge of sleaze to it, but I think thats what the author was going for, it was the atmosphere. I would recommend this book. overall 4 of 5 stars, readability 3 of 5, plot 3 of 5

Well, I am back. Unfortunately I had to take a break after my vacation, although it was great. We went to disneyworld, epcot, seaworld, waterparks, zoo..... we sampled all that orlando had to offer. Of course my brothers wedding was the best part! The bad thing was that we found out our hotel room had BEDBUGS! UGH! whats worse was that I found them on my 2 year old daughter. The hotel treated us like a problem and made the situation worse. If you go to Orlando don't stay at westgate palace...... just dont, rude staff, roaches, bedbugs, rude staff... oh did I say that already. lol. Ok so anyway now that I am back I get to relax right? NO I get a chance to buy my parents rental house, so we jump on that opportunity even though its an hour and a half away. So I am going in to work as often as I can and when I am home I an cleaning it constantly. As soon as everything calms down I will have a chance to read again and start posting again.

Review of Queen of Dragons

This was a good book. Readability is 5 of 5, Plot 5 of 5 and of course overall 5 of 5. I found out halfway through that it was the third book in a series but I would never have known otherwise. I love good fantasy books and this was very good. I had trouble understanding the main characters. That is the only problem I had with it.

I am going on a vacation to Florida, I will be gone for most of September. So there probably will not be any new entries until after the 21st.

Until then, good reading!

Queen of Dragons

Went to the library a few days ago. I picked up the next book, Queen of Dragons by Shana Abe.

I want to point out that I am obviously not reading everything in exact order. My library has three fiction sections, fiction, mysery, and sci-fi/ fantasy. I am reading one from each section, just to keep things from getting too boring. Although I have had several good ones in a row. This one I just started and it promises to be good!

Go read this book!

This book was great! I loved it. It reminded me that I need to eat more real cheese, I have several of the cheeses mentioned in the book on my grocery list right now. If you are a foodie you will love it, if you like mystery's you will love it. Good characters, good everything. 5 of 5 on all accounts.

I will be checking out a new book in a few days, so check back soon.

Update: I got a few cheeses from my local grocery store ( dont have a cheese shop close unfortunately) Go get a cheese called lamb chopper! Do it now! its ridiculously yummy, I NEVER eat cheese by itself but this one is so good I couldn't stop myself.

The first review!

I just finished the first book, State Scarlet. Now I was hoping for a horrible book, so the first review could start with a bang! But the book was really not that bad. I have been trying to decide how to rate the book. I have decided to rate each book on plot, readability and overall. So without further ado, I give the plot 4 of 5 stars. It was good storytelling, I really can't complain. The readability I give 3 of 5 stars. The book was a little too long in some places and I found my eyes starting to glaze and my brain begin to wander. The politics were tedious to me, and I found it hard to connect to a lot of the characters. So, overall I give it 3 of 5 stars. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but if you decide to read it, I don't think you will be too disappointed.

The next book I will read is, The long quiche goodbye by Avery Aames. It proclaims itself "a cheese shop mystery." This actually seems like something I will enjoy. I will let you know as soon as I can!

Ta DA! first book....

So I will admit to cheating a bit on this, yes. There are two libraries in my town and when I went to the first one I just couldn't make myself read the most boring book in the world. So.... I went to the next library and found an acceptable book. First book on the shelf, and the winner is....... State Scarlet by David Aaron. At first glance it is totally not my type of book, I would say its plot will be some sort of war, spy, politics type of thing. Meh, we will see if its any good. I will let you know!

Crazy bored....

I got the idea to just start with the first book on the shelf at my local library, and read it and then read the next one on the shelf..... I mean I am a big book snob. I search far and wide to find the perfect book to read, I always judge the book by its cover. I always thought that was a stupid saying, I mean of course if a book has a crappy cover its probably not going to be a masterpiece.... Oh well anyway, I would like to document each book and my feelings as I proceed with this adventure. Heck, maybe I will find a favorite, maybe I will get so bored I cant stand it. Who knows!
